I decided to post my master class on making a flower brooch from satin ribbons.

As a basis, I took Tyutelka's master class, presented in a post about pionomania. I want to apologize for the quality of the photo - at night the photos are always of poor quality, and when using the flash, the white satin just lit up and merged with the background.

To make a peony brooch (peony embroidery), we need: a base fabric (I have white gabardine, the price in the store is -80 rubles per meter), a hoop, satin ribbons of different widths (I have from 0.3 cm, 0.6 cm, 1 cm, 2.5 cm, 4 cm), tapestry needles, lighter, scissors, batik paints, glue, brooch fasteners.

We fill the gabardine in the hoop, draw a circle on the fabric - the diameter of the base of the peony (2-3 cm). Starting from the center with the thinnest ribbon, we embroider loops, we try to make the height the same. After filling the center of the circle with loops (approximately 1 cm in diameter), we bring the tape out, cut it, singe it. Then I cut the main part of the loops (you can not do this) and singe gently with a lighter, pushing the ribbons apart (so that they do not stick together when singeing).

Then I take the tape of the next size (I took pink, although all the tapes were white, I plan to tint the flower). I make loops in a circle. I also cut the loops and singe so that the ribbon is wrapped.

This is the other side

From a tape 1 cm wide, I immediately cut off the edge of the ribbon in a circle, singe,
I start the tape from the front, I sew the fabric, I bring it to the front

I cut, singe, etc. in a circle. I do this because I’m afraid to catch other tapes with a flame + it’s more convenient to achieve a bend in the tape + on the reverse side it turns out neatly

From a tape of 2.5 cm I cut the petals

I burn with a lighter. To form a fold, you need to bring the light under the center of the petal, but the fire must be kept below the fabric

And I pull it through the fabric with a needle. I make a couple of circles with such petals. Please note - all petals are bent into the center of the flower

From a 4 cm tape I cut the petals, singe,

I pull it through the fabric with a needle. I make a couple of circles with such petals. Please note that all petals are bent from the center of the flower.

When the result suits me, I cut off all the “tails” on the inside, singe them and gently grab them with a thread, trying to grab (sew) everything.

Now for me the most delicious - flower tinting. Based on this picture.

I mix pale yellow paint (yellow + white) on the palette. I moisten the middle of the flower with a wet brush (just water), pushing the petals apart.

Then I tint the middle of the flower and dry it with a hairdryer.

I mix pale pink paint on the palette (pink + white)

Wet the tips of the flower petals with a wet brush (just water). Then I tint the edges of the flower and dry it with a hairdryer. I am satisfied with the result.

The next step is green. I take a green (can be white) tape (width 2.5) I cut it into stripes (I determined the length as follows - I attached the tape to the flower and figured out how many leaves should stick out in both directions). I fold the strips in half, singe the fold, laying the fold.

After that I cut out (see the result) I singe the edges and the middle and go to the kitchen to draw veins.

I took this picture as a sample:

On the mouse pad I lay out a leaf, with the blunt side of a knife heated on fire (I have gas at home) I draw veins. They become embossed.

Now I will paint the leaves in a more natural color (I interfere with it from two colors - swamp + green).

After the paint, I dry the leaves with a hairdryer (so that they do not scatter, I press it with a brush).

I also experimented - I emphasized the veins on the leaves with a gel pen - she draws beautifully on a satin ribbon.
The next step is to remove the flower from the hoop, cut the fabric in a circle, leaving a centimeter and a half),

I pick it up on a thread, pull it together and carefully stitch it.

Next, I take a monofilament (you can use a green thread to match the leaves) and start sewing on the leaves, trying to recreate the original ...

Here the greenery is sewn on, now I'm sewing it through the middle, pulling it together so that the flower is flatter.

The final step is to glue the fasteners for the brooch.

And now my beauty is ready! It turned out to be plump, the paint (acrylic) made the satin hard, which is very good for a brooch. The coloring is very soft!

We all know that fashion never stands still. She can elusively rush forward, offering fantastic outfits and images, or she can go back, looking for "highlights" from fashionistas of past centuries.

It is thanks to this phenomenon - the fashion cycle - that we owe the return of the brooch to the outfits of modern beauties. Surely, many people remember with what love their grandmothers kept brooches in antique boxes and put them on on the occasion of the celebration.

Today, wearing a brooch is also considered a sign of good taste, so women of fashion wear them not only for special occasions, but also wear them in everyday life.

The brooch will be a wonderful gift for mom, grandmother, girlfriend or colleague on March 8 or any other holiday. Today we will tell you about several ways to make a brooch with your own hands.

You can make a brooch in almost any technique:

Brooches with embroidery

Brooches made of felt and beads

Lightning brooches

Satin ribbon brooches

Crocheted brooches

Composite fabric brooches

It is quite possible to learn how to make all this beauty, the main thing is to know the main stages of creating a brooch.

Brooch with fabric embroidery

To make such a brooch with your own hands, you will need:

  • small embroidered plot
  • cotton or linen fabric for the back
  • piece of cardboard
  • lace
  • a special clasp for a brooch (you can, of course, get by with a regular pin, but it will be quite difficult to attach it).

Trim the embroidery in the shape of a circle. We try on a circle of cardboard (so that the embroidery does not move to the side, it is better to fix it with pins).

We tighten the needle along the edges with a seam "forward", tighten the thread and fasten it.

Don't forget to put filler inside if you want the brooch to be soft and voluminous.

We do the same with the back, making it a little larger in size. In the back of the filler can not be invested.

Fasten to the back of the lock for the brooch.

And now we sew both parts together, putting lace between the parts.

The brooch is ready!

Instead of lace, you can use satin ribbons to decorate the brooch:

To make this brooch you will need:

  • blank - the basis for a brooch (sold in needlework stores)
  • embroidery on canvas or evenly woven fabric
  • piece of cardboard
  • synthetic winterizer or other filler (optional)
  • hot gun

The process of creating such a brooch is even simpler. We stretch the embroidery onto a cardboard base (see the description for the previous brooch), and then glue the embroidery to the metal base.

The brooch will turn out to be very delicate if you pass a satin ribbon through the edges of the blank.

A beautiful version of a ribbon brooch in a video master class:

As you can see, the use of this manufacturing option allows you to get an exclusive decoration in a vintage style.

Unfortunately, special fittings for making jewelry can be very difficult to find in small towns. And online stores often offer such accessories in a set of 5-10 pieces per pack, which is not very convenient for those who want to "just try it."

Felt brooch

To make this brooch you will need:

  • two-color felt
  • floss threads to match felt
  • beautiful vintage button
  • brooch mount

Cut flowers and petals from felt according to the proposed template.

Cut holes in the center of the flowers.

Sew the veins of the flower with floss threads.

Sew a fastener for a brooch to the leaves from the wrong side.

Pick up a nice button and sew it on.

Brooch braided with beads

Another way to make a brooch frame is beading.

Watch, for example, this video tutorial on braiding a cabochon.

Cabochon- a precious or semi-precious stone, processed in a special way. After such processing, the stone acquires a smooth convex polished surface without facets. And you can braid the embroidered plot in the same way.

There are many ways to decorate a handmade brooch. You may want to decorate the edges with braid.

Or crochet the edge:

The back piece can be made not only from fabric, but also from felt:
