Satin rosette. How to make a rose from satin ribbon? Rose with rectangular petals - instruction

Fabric flowers look spectacular, and you can make decoration yourself. To do this, you need a satin ribbon of a certain size, a glue gun or a needle and thread. You can use homemade fabric roses anywhere: in the interior, decorate crafts, arrange a frame for a photo, make a brooch or hair ornament.

Many needlewomen know that a handmade product is worth a lot. A part of the soul is invested in such work, therefore each product is considered unique. You can also make your own ribbon rose.

How to make a rose from a satin ribbon - tools and materials

In order to make a royal flower on your own, you will need a little perseverance, as well as knowledge and materials.

Let's start with the preparation of materials and tools:

  • prepare a satin ribbon, 2.5 cm wide;
  • scissors;
  • lighter;
  • glue gun;
  • the basis for fastening: a felt circle, a hairpin or a brooch.

How to make a rose from satin ribbon

Learning to make a rose from a ribbon together:

  • in order to get started, you need to make blanks. Cut the satin ribbon into segments, 7 cm long. In total, you will need 6 petals to create one flower;

  • how to make a petal: bend the edge of the tape (we work with the wrong side) on the right side to make a triangle, unfold the workpiece with the reverse side, unscrewing the triangle;

  • the edges must be pressed tightly with your fingers, melted with a lighter;

  • repeat your steps again - so that on the opposite side it turns out exactly the same as on the right side. workpiece is ready. For one rose, you need 6 petals. The petals need to be turned with the front side, small triangles up;

  • we begin to form a bud - it is necessary to apply hot glue to the bottom of the workpiece, quickly roll the tape into a tube until the glue has time to grab. We recommend immediately, while the glue is soft, to form a neat bud, straightening it with your fingers;

  • glue the next petal and all the rest in this way: we apply glue to the edge of the workpiece, but glue only the edges to the bud. The middle remains free, you need to quickly form a neat fold with your fingers and press the tape to the bud. This is how a rose is formed. Each subsequent petal must be glued with a slight offset to make the rose lush;

  • a rose from a satin ribbon is ready - it remains only to think which fastener to choose: a headband, an elastic band, a clip or a brooch.

How to make a rose from satin ribbon. Method 2

Roses can be made both large and small. If you need to make a beautiful, soft rosette on a stem, then it is best to choose a different assembly method - on a thread with a needle. There are many options: a twisted rose, when the ribbon is twisted around the bud, and the bottom is fastened with a thread, or when the individual elements are prepared and then sewn together, the thread is pulled up - and in this way you can get a beautiful petal. Each method is good in its own way, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with a detailed master class on creating a rose from a satin ribbon in order to make a beautiful royal flower yourself:

We continue our acquaintance with different ways of making roses from ribbons. In this ribbon embroidery lesson, we will get acquainted with another version of a rose based on basting stitches. And if in the rose "Lady" the basting was done along U-shaped lines, then in this rose we will make the basting in a straight line.

Necessary materials:

  • tapes of different widths (for example, 10, 20, 30 and 50-60 mm)
  • thin needle (for example, beaded)
  • thread to match the ribbon
  • scissors
  • lighter
  • possibly sewing pins

Option one: tender of tender

This version of creating a rose from satin ribbons is the easiest one presented in this master class, but this does not detract from the beauty of the rose!

We take a tape 25-30 mm wide and 70-90 cm long, cut the corners at an angle of 45 °, singe the edges with fire.

We tie a secure knot on a thread matching the tone of the ribbon and lay a basting seam along the edge of the ribbon, starting from the corner and ending at the corner.

We make the assembly according to the basting, evenly distributing it, and fix it on the corner with a few stitches. We do not cut the thread.

We begin to twist the tape, not forgetting to fasten with a few stitches at the base.

You need to twist so that the front side of the tape is inside the tube.

At this stage, the blank can be sewn to the fabric and further form a rose, fixing each petal directly on the fabric.

This is the rose we got.

It can be used for decoration or sewn to fabric in embroidered work.

As an experiment, you can make the same rose from a wide ribbon (6 cm or more). Fold it in half along the edge, lay a basting seam, not forgetting to make the corners at an angle of 45 °. Further, the manufacturing process is the same as from a 30 mm tape. Such a rose will be even more magnificent.

Option two: an unusual two-tone rose

Using two ribbons, one of which is narrower in width and in a contrasting color, you can make a two-color rose, with an emphasis on its middle.

I have an orange ribbon 12mm wide and a red ribbon 20mm wide, 70cm long.

Now you need to overlap the ribbons with a basting stitch across the face with a thread matching the tone of the ribbon that will be on top. I have an orange ribbon on top, I sweep it with an orange thread.

This is how it turned out on the wrong side.

Now you can already lay a basting seam for assembly and then twist the rose. I want to show how you can make a flower even more natural.

We wind the sewn ribbons on a ruler (or any other device) or simply fold it, the width of the fold is 4-5 cm.

Carefully remove from the ruler, align the edges and cut off the corners of all layers of the tape. We singe the sections along the entire length of the tape.

You can cut not only the corners, but also the edge to form a beautiful petal.

We twist tightly at any edge of the tape, forming the center of the flower, and fix it with a few stitches.

Run a basting stitch along the edge of the orange ribbon. At the end of the tape, we make a basting at an angle of 45 °.

We make the assembly along the basting seam.

And we collect the rose as in the first version.

Rose is ready. Sew, if necessary, to the fabric.

For clarity, the video from Evgesha Ryzhkova.

Option three: a luxurious blooming rose

This rose is also made on the basis of a basting seam, but before laying a basting, the ribbon must be folded in a special way.

The manufacturing process is somewhat more complicated than the two previous options, but the beauty of this rose exceeds all expectations and you will not regret the time spent at all.

For work, it is better for us to prepare a soft tape with a width of 25-60 mm (I have a tape of 50 mm), it is difficult to determine the exact length, it is better not to immediately cut the tape from the skein.

The narrower the tape, the smaller piece of tape we need. Roughly, the length of the tape should be 20 times its width. For example, if the tape is 5 cm wide, then for work you need to take a tape about 1 meter long.

We bend the corner as in the photo.

We fix it with several stitches.

We form the center of the flower by twisting the ribbon. Fasten with a few stitches of thread to match the ribbon.

Now we need to bend the tape so that the edges are connected. Bend edge BC to edge AB.

And along the edge line (DE), we fold it so that the edges and the fold are outside.

We sew all three layers with a basting seam: edge, fold and edge.

We continue to work, connecting the edges, folding the tape and sewing with a basting seam.

You can fix all three layers with a sewing pin before stitching.

The photo below is an intermediate stage of work. The workpiece should be wrapped in a circle.

Two such circles are enough to make this rose. This is how the preparation should turn out.

Now it needs to be twisted. You can twist right now, fixing the turns, and get a half-opened bud. This is how it will approximately look like.

And you can make a blooming rose. To do this, you need to pick up the workpiece along the basting seam.

And twist it, fixing the turns. This is how it will be on the inside.

Here we have such a blooming beauty!

The video from Anastasia Kulikova shows the whole process of making this rose.

Such roses from ribbons will undoubtedly become an adornment of your works, whether it is a craft or an embroidered picture!

And in conclusion, beautiful roses made in this way, from the masters of embroidery with ribbons.

Making roses from satin ribbons is not as difficult as it might seem to a beginner. Such beauty can decorate pelmets, curtains, sofa cushions. Yes, anything! Looks very soft and elegant.

Roses can be used as a brooch, show off on a headband, hair band, even beads. In a word, the scope of these satin roses is very wide.

Consider several workshops for making roses from satin ribbons.

Chic rose from a wide ribbon

To work on this little masterpiece, we need:

  • Long pink satin ribbon
  • sharp needle
  • Pink threads
  • Scissors

We take our satin ribbon by the edge. We bend it at an angle of 45 degrees so that a small tail remains. The place of inflection is sheathed over the edge.

We bend the tape again towards ourselves and also sheathe the place of the fold with threads. At this point, we should have a sheathed triangle.

We bend the tape again and the figure begins to resemble a square. We sew this inflection.

Finally, we bend for the last time until we get a square. Most of the tape on top remains free.

Turn the square over so that the free end of the tape is on the bottom. At the right side of the square, you can see the tail, which we made at the beginning of our work.

We turn the square over so that the free tape lies on our fingers.

And again we begin to bend the tape at an angle of 45 degrees, but no longer sheathing the edge, as before, but simply holding it with our fingers.

After 4 turns of the tape over the first base square, we will get another, already three-dimensional square.

We do this path several more times until we get several volumetric squares - future petals.

We add a "stack" of squares until the tape runs out. The remaining small tip is twisted into a flagellum.

We fill the edge of the flagellum into the core of the "stack" of squares.

The flagellum should come out from the back of all the squares.

Now the squares need to be tucked a little so as to simulate the arrangement of the petals in a rose.

We twist, scroll, straighten them with our hands until we achieve the maximum resemblance to a rose.

Flip the rose to the other side. The remaining tail of the tape is sewn more tightly to the flower. You should get such a slightly convex circle. As soon as it arrived, we cut off the rest of the ribbon.

Our beautiful flower is ready!

Yes, it can be a little confusing at first, but after your debut attempt at creating a satin rose, you will make similar flowers very quickly.

Rose on an elastic band

A rosette can also become a hair ornament. A rosette on an elastic band looks especially impressive. Let's try to make a rose from a satin ribbon, and then attach it to an elastic band.

We will also need a medium-width satin ribbon. Color - at your discretion.

Put the tape on the table. 5-6 centimeters from the left edge we throw inward.

Then we bend the tape towards ourselves at an angle of 45 degrees and fix the place of the inflection with a pin so that the edge of the ribbon looks down.

We bend the tape up and repeat the same steps until a square is formed. We fasten the places of inflections with pins.

If we turn the square over, we get four small squares looking at each other.

We take a needle and stitch all sides of our square. At the same time, we do not take out the pins yet.

Now you need to carefully pull the thread so that the base becomes rounded, that is, the original blank will turn into such a small round bag with a hole at the bottom.

Flip the rose to the other side. We straighten, we got a neat, round bud.

We take the next tape. We put its ends crosswise so that a circle-loop forms at the top. We fix the place of intersection of the ends with a pin.

As a result, we get a figure that looks like a trapezoid. The sides also need to be sheathed.

Again we pull the thread, again we get a voluminous bag. But there is no hole.

So we got two buds: large and small.

We insert a small bud into a large one, closing the hole.

The rosette is almost ready, it remains only to make a leaf. To do this, we take a green satin ribbon. Bend the edge so that a cone is formed.

With a pin we fix the place at the base of the two cones. So we got the leaves for the rose. Sew them to the finished bud.

It remains only to fix the rose on an elastic band. Take a small piece of felt in the same color as the rubber band to cover the place where the rosette is attached to the rubber band.

Braid or play ponytail and secure with your new homemade hair tie. Very gentle, feminine and original. It is unlikely that anyone will guess that such a satin ribbon rose is made by your own hands, and not bought in a store.

Bouquet of roses

And another original way of making roses from satin ribbons. In order to make a dazzling bouquet of such roses, you need to make each flower separately.

To twist one such rose, we need a round base. It can be cut from thick burlap or gauze folded into several layers (to make it denser, starch it), as well as from felt. Here's what we do next:

Cut out a circle with a radius of 3-5 cm (at your discretion).

In the circle we mark a tuck segment, it needs to be cut and sewn, as a result we get a small cone.

If the tuck is made large, the cone will turn out to be high, which is why the flower from the ribbons will be more voluminous

We impose a satin ribbon on the cone so that its edge with a square covers the top of the cone.

Sew the ribbon to the cone.

In a way already familiar to us, we begin to bend the tape in a circle so that the result is a square.

We fix the places of inflections with our fingers.

From these voluminous squares, a flower bud begins to emerge. The more squares, the more voluminous it turns out.

Gently straighten the petals with your hands and then the rose will be incredibly beautiful!

To create a bouquet of such roses, you must first make a basis for it. It is easy to make a handle for a bouquet from old felt-tip pens, folded together, pasted over with tape and rewound with a satin ribbon. We fix the foam ball on the base of the handle with hot glue. If there is none, you can make a papier-mâché ball or just crumple the paper to make a ball and tape it over. It remains to stick our beautiful roses on the ball. Such a bouquet can be presented for a birthday, used as a hand-made wedding bouquet, or fixed in a pot - make a topiary - and put on the windowsill.

There are many ways to use these roses. They can be combined into bouquets, or you can make incredibly beautiful head jewelry out of them.

Recently, wreaths made of artificial flowers have gained incredible popularity. Most often they are a satin bandage with an elastic band, the top of which is decorated with a floral volumetric appliqué. It's really very fashionable, stylish, and for long-haired girls it's just a godsend! You will immediately become like a beautiful fairy who, by some miracle, wandered to the ground. Such wreaths are not so cheap, so making them with your own hands is not only pleasant, but also cost-effective.

You will need to sew the bandage itself from satin fabric, matching the color of the flowers that will be on it. And then sew roses to it from satin ribbons, which we have already learned how to make. At the same time, you yourself regulate the size of the rose, the number of them on the bandage and the location. And if you can already make a rose from a satin ribbon, then it will not be difficult for you to design such a delicate wreath.

Surely you have girlfriends who would be happy to see such a decoration on one of their wardrobe items. And you can safely call yourself a designer - after all, you created such beauty with your own hands. Satin ribbons are cheap, beautiful and very affordable material.

Making your own ribbon roses is a great way to decorate your clothes with your own accessories. Don't believe? Just try!

    Rose

    Satin or satin roses are a great way for a beginner needleworker to create something beautiful with their own hands. To do this, you can use any fabric up to shoelaces.

    To create a rose you will need

    1. 1. Ribbon
    2. 2. Scissors

    Process of creation

    1. 1. It all starts with the selection of material. Decide on the color of future roses, then cut off about twenty centimeters of the prepared fabric. Remember that if the segment is short, it will be difficult to work with it.
    2. 2. Bend the tape so that its halves are perpendicular to each other, bend the lower part of the tape over the middle so that the upper part is at the bottom. So repeat until the tape ends.
    3. 3. Pinch the free ends of the tape with your index finger and thumb so that the resulting design stretches out like an accordion from the squares. Now take the free end and gently pull it towards you, pulling it out of the resulting accordion. Its folds form rose petals, stacked with each other. Stretch it until the rose is in the desired shape, but do not overstretch it so that the rose does not fall apart.
    4. 4. Now tie a knot behind the rose and cut off any excess. At this time, it is better to turn the rose over and press it with your finger so that its petals do not turn around.
    5. 5. The rose is ready.
    • The longer your ribbon is, the more petals the rose will have.
    • For the final creation of a rose, you need to attach a wire to it like a stem and wrap it with a hair band. The main thing to remember is that everything is proportional.
    • If the fabric is stiff, then the shape of the petals will be clearer.
    • The size of the flower depends on the width of the ribbon.
    • From satin ribbons, you can make a whole bouquet and present as a gift to friends.

    simple rose

    Despite the fact that any material is suitable for this rose, it will come out most beautifully from satin. Also, the technology of its creation is so simple that even a child can do it.

    We'll need

    1. 1. Needle.
    2. 2. Thread in the color of the flower.
    3. 3. Ribbon.
    4. 4. Glue.
    5. 5. Button as an imitation of the middle.
    6. 6. Scissors.

    Creation method

    1. 1. After threading the needle, cut off about thirty centimeters of tape.
    2. 2. At the bottom of the tape, start picking up the tape on the needle with small stitches and thus get to the other edge.
    3. 3. Pull off the tape by pulling on the ends of the thread as far as possible.
    4. 4. Gather the resulting shuttlecock from the ribbon into a circle, tie the ends into a double knot, cut off all excess.
    5. 5. Glue the ends with glue so that they look inside the flower.
    6. 6. After the glue has dried, put the flower under the press to flatten it.
    7. 7. Cover the seam with a button, gluing it in the center.
    8. 8. The flower is ready!

    You can make the flower more original by using buttons of different sizes that can be glued one on top of the other. You can also sheathe the flower with beads or sprinkle with sparkles.

    satin rose

    This process is significantly different from the previous one and allows you to create flowers of unprecedented beauty that can be attached literally anywhere.

    We'll need

    1. 1. Four centimeter tape, one and a half meters long.
    2. 6. Scissors.
    3. 1. Needle.
    4. 4. Threads.

    Creation method

    1. 1. On a thread threaded into a needle, tie the ends in a knot. Bend one corner of the ribbon to the middle and sew with a couple of stitches. This will be the beginning.
    2. 2. Start wrapping the ribbon to the other corner from the stitched one. Make five or six turns and secure with stitches.
    3. 3. Bend the free side, to the right of the collected tape, at an angle of forty-five degrees to the bottom. Fold the assembled tape inward until the fold is clearly marked. Secure all layers with thread. This will form the petals.
    4. 4. Repeat this procedure along the entire length.
    5. 5. At the very end of the petal, make a second fold and sew to the main flower.
    6. 6. Done!

    Different fold angle and tape tension changes the appearance of the flower.

    Wire ribbon peony

  • 3. Continue wrapping and pinning through all layers in a criss-cross pattern. When the needle begins to pass tightly, you can fasten to the previous row.
  • 4. Having reached the end, turn the open section inward and hem to the flower base. Remove excess wire.
  • 5. A circle is cut out of felt for the base of the flower and a rectangle is sewn to it to serve as an attachment to a hairpin or dress.
  • 6. Sew the felt to the base and the rectangle to the circle.
  • 7. The flower is ready.

Ordinary items (jeans, skirts, blouses, bags and even home textiles) can be made much more attractive with the help of decorative elements. For this purpose, butterflies, flowers and other pretty details are used. But to decorate a thing exclusively is quite expensive. So why overpay if you can make roses from satin ribbons yourself, and then use it as a unique decor?

Today it is not a problem to purchase satin and satin ribbons of any width and a wide variety of colors. Our goal is to reveal the secret of making a designer flower at home. We tried to choose the most accessible master classes, based on which training does not cause any difficulties even. So, now you will learn how to make a rose from a satin ribbon and see a step by step photo.

Making a satin rose from a wide ribbon

For work, purchase a needle, thread in the color of the ribbon and directly a wide satin ribbon. The tape should be 6.5 centimeter, it will need a little less than a meter.

From the wrong side, fold the tape in half and make a basting at a certain angle (45 degrees). In this case, the tape should fold obliquely. Now baste the product along the edge, and you need to finish the process at the same angle at which you started.

When you pull on the thread, the ribbon will gather. Fold the very edge in the form of a bud and sew it to secure the product. Now wind the assembled tape around the bud, remembering to periodically stitch the product for strength. Also fix the very end of the tape with a thread and a needle.

Making stock roses

This version of the rose is different in that it does not have a pronounced bud, so the resulting flower even somewhat resembles a carnation. Buy 50 cm of ribbon 65 mm wide, matching thread and a needle.

As in the first case, to make a rose from a ribbon, you need to fold the satin blank on the wrong side and bast along the edge. When the ribbon is gathered, twist the very first curl tightly and gradually wind the ribbon, stitching each turn. Similar manipulations can be performed with ribbons of various widths, then the flowers will turn out to be different from each other.

little roses

Miniature roses are necessary for decorating a wedding dress, artificial bouquets and making decorative compositions. Now we will tell you how to make roses from satin ribbons with your own hands and describe the entire master class step by step:

  1. To make roses from satin ribbons, buy 1 meter of ribbon 10 mm wide (you can in a reel so that the product does not get confused).
  2. Wrap the very end of the tape at a right angle.
  3. By folding the ribbon three times, you will get the core of the flower.
  4. The folded segment must be fixed with firmware.
  5. In order to get rose petals, wrap the bud with the free end of the ribbon and sew on elements for fixation each time.
  6. Bend the remaining tip of the tape, wrap it around the resulting flower and secure with stitching.

Rose from the remains of ribbons

If you have a lot of small pieces of ribbon left, but it's a pity to throw them away, use them to make colorful roses. It is important that the segments are at least 10 cm in length. Additionally, before work, stock up on scissors, a needle and thread. So, let's start our master class:

  • it is necessary to bend the edge of the tape at a right angle;
  • we bend the edge again and then fix it with a tight stitch;
  • in order to make a flower petal, you need to take the segments and fold them at a right angle from 2 sides, then sweep the edge and pull the workpiece by the thread;
  • the petal should be attached to the bud and secured with stitching;
  • we repeat the last manipulation with each blank in the form of a petal, and fix the last one tightly so that the rose does not fall apart.

How to make a rose from a satin ribbon: step by step photo

Now we will tell you how to make a simple rose in a short period of time. So let's get started:

  1. We buy a thin green satin ribbon (3 mm wide) and a red, white or pink ribbon 10 mm wide. We also stock up on a table fork (do not be surprised!).
  2. Between the tines of the fork, thread the ribbon intended for making a rose (make 3 or 5 windings on the tines).
  3. Without removing the ribbon from the fork, take a needle with matching thread and sew all the layers of the ribbon with one stitch.
  4. Do the same from the other side of the tape, but already removing the product from the fork.
  5. In the place of stitching with threads, pull off the rose with a green narrow ribbon.
  6. Starting from the topmost petal, begin to disassemble the leaves of the rose with your fingers.
  7. When all the petals are disassembled and given the desired look, we finally form a flower and sew the leaves twisted from a green ribbon to the inside. The product is ready!

How to make a magnificent rose from a satin ribbon with your own hands: step by step photo

Almost all homemade roses are similar to each other, but there are still some differences. Some flowers are flat and non-voluminous, while others look convex and almost believable. To work, stock up on threads with a needle, hot glue, a pin, a lighter and the main element - a satin ribbon about 1 meter long.

Tip: so that the tape does not crumble during operation, its edges can be carefully scorched with a lighter or candle flame.

Stepping back from the very edge of the tape a couple of centimeters, fold the fabric at a 30-degree angle, and then again fold the angle down along the edge of the tape. When making stitches, starting from the bottom and moving to the right, move exactly along the edge. After that, fold the edge of the tape upwards away from you and sew the product along the edge.

The more folds you get, the more voluminous the rose will be. To assemble the element, pull the thread, collecting the edges of the rose in one place. Make the middle of the rose by twisting the center petals into a tight knot and fixing it with hot glue.

As you can see, making roses from satin ribbons is not very difficult: the main thing is to follow the instructions, and sometimes show imagination, as is the case with self-production or, which can also be decorated with flowers. Decorate yourself and your home with cute satin roses, it's so feminine!
