Hedgehog handmade sewn toy. How to sew a hedgehog from fabric, fur, pom-poms

Hedgehog Syoma is sewn of felt and faux fur. Small and not prickly at all, it can become a cute toy for a baby or a funny one. The hedgehog fastened bright autumn leaves of felt on his needles, if desired, the hedgehog can be decorated with a mushroom or an apple.

Sewing a hedgehog with your own hands is not difficult at all, even children can handle this work.

To sew a hedgehog out of felt, you will need:

  • gray, red and green felt
  • gray faux fur
  • stuffing material
  • scissors, needle and thread
  • threads "Iris" green and orange
  • two black beads
  • a piece of black cloth
  • thick cardboard

Master class: how to sew a hedgehog from felt and fur with your own hands

Print out the hedgehog pattern.

We cut out the details of the hedgehog as follows, not forgetting the seam allowances:

  • Detail 1 - two pieces in a mirror image of gray felt.
  • Detail 2 - two pieces in a mirror image of fur.
  • Detail 3 - one piece of fur.
  • Detail 4 and 5 - one piece each from gray felt.
  • We cut out the leaves from felt of red and green color without puffs.

Sew together with a seam over the edge of parts 1 and 2, parts 3 and 5.

We sew the resulting three parts together, sew on part 4, leaving about 3 cm unsewn at the back of the hedgehog's body in order to turn it inside out, insert the cardboard base and stuff it.

Cut out part 4 from thick cardboard.

We turn out the hedgehog. We insert the cardboard into the body of the hedgehog. Cardboard is needed to make the hedgehog's tummy flat. Stuff the body of the hedgehog with stuffing material.

Sew up the hole with a hidden seam.

Sew on black eye beads. We cut out a circle from a piece of black fabric, collect its edges for assembly on a thread, put a ball of stuffing material inside it, tighten the thread, fix it with a few stitches. It turns out a nose. We sew it to the muzzle of a hedgehog.

With colored threads "Iris" we embroider veins on the leaves with a "needle forward" seam.

Sew the leaves on the back of the hedgehog. Felt hedgehog is ready! A perfect gift for any holiday, for example, on March 8th.

Hedgehogs - patterns

Found an interesting resource. Here He.
Let's see. There are a lot of paper folds on the site: toys, boxes, houses, flowers, postcards and much more. Be sure to check it out - very curious. And when you try to collect them, it becomes more and more curious. The toys are amazing. Is it true. Looking at some of them, I just can’t believe that they are made of paper. And so I thought - if you can glue it out of paper, then why not try to sew it out of fabric.
You can download pdf-files with maps and a description of the manufacture. Of course, for sewing, patterns will have to be reworked somewhat, but the main thing is the idea. I decided to start with something simpler - with a hedgehog. And now I want to show you the process of work.
This is how the card looked at the beginning, for making a paper hedgehog.

After processing, the pattern became like this (of course, there are a lot of undercuts!)

Then it remains to sew all the details

And fill with stuffing

I sewed the paws separately, cut the ears out of felt.
Eyes, nose, tinting - that's how the Yozhka turned out!

Here it is!

So how is it? Like? And this is from Anna - for dessert)))

This hedgehog has been living with me for a long time. He is from a series of samplers. My sampler is a pattern check. I'll sew, I'll have a look, I'll see what's wrong, I'll change something. I was wonderfully puzzled by the request to sew a hedgehog for Yuri Norshtein. Yes, with great joy! Even with some pride! And even thanks! Just as a gift! I love his cartoons! But since free minutes, in recent times, just barely enough, I started small - from a leaf. Trial leaf for a trial hedgehog :)

I photographed this friend, at one time, quite hastily. There were no good shots. But now I waited, thorn, photo shoots.

Here's how I made the leaf. I confess, I'm not a master of leaves. I know, there are special technologies, all sorts of bulges and something else there, but everything is not so with me. I took a rag, thin, tender. Draw the outline of a leaf. I glued the wire in the center, and veined threads from it. (here, in the photo, under the fabric the film shines through, shines)

Then, for all this, I glued the second layer of fabric onto the PVA glue. I'll cut it out after I paint it.

Dry, painted with acrylic paints. While the leaf is wet, it can be wrinkled, bent. It will be possible to bend it even after it dries - it has a wire inside. This is how he turned out.

Today you can buy almost any toy for your baby, but it's much more fun to make it yourself. Everyone's favorite hedgehog character comes to life thanks to a simple set of materials.

A soft toy made of fur or pom-poms will be an ideal gift for a baby, and if your child can already hold scissors in his hands, it is worth bringing such a valuable assistant to the process.

fur hedgehog

In order to sew a hedgehog, you need to take the following materials:

  • fur with medium pile;
  • a small piece of artificial leather;
  • velours;
  • printed fabric;
  • cardboard;
  • wire (22 cm);
  • dense fabric;
  • black beads (3 pcs).

Click to enlarge the hedgehog pattern.

We make a head pattern for their furs. From velor fabric we will cut out four paws and a muzzle. We use artificial leather for the ears and paws, without which the hedgehog will look incomplete.

A printed material will make a good torso. We create slippers from dense fabric. Soles need to be made from cardboard, and the wire will go to the frame.

Stages of work

1. To begin with, with your own hands, you should grind the tucks necessary for the details of the head. On the pattern, you need to mark the points where the ears and other details of the muzzle will be attached in the future. The halves of the head are sewn along the middle seam. Make it simple. Then you need to turn the product out and fill it with a pre-designed filler. Here, the future soft toy has found a head.

3. Now the back seams on the slippers are being ground down, in which the hedgehog soft toy will be shod. The shoe is turned inside out, and the sole is made by hand. Slippers are stitched to the lower section of the body. The toy must be turned inside out, cardboard is inserted inside the slippers, a frame must be made in the paws. Slippers, legs and torso are stuffed with filler. Using a secret seam, you need to sew the torso and head. The hedgehog is almost ready.

4. A little left: to make a strike of the details of the front legs, the lower sections are still open. The paws turn out, filled with stuffing. Put your palms into the open paws, tuck the edge of the fabric slightly inward and sew with a blind seam. The legs are attached to the body in pre-marked places. The toy is almost finished.

5. The muzzle should become embossed. The injection is done at the point that is intended for the eyes, and the injection is done at the corner of the mouth.

6. Now we make eyes and a nose. For this, beads are used.

As you can see, sewing a hedgehog is not so difficult. But this is just one of the options for how you can create an amazing toy with your own hands.

Pompom Hedgehog

To sew a hedgehog from pompoms, you need to take the following materials:

  • Woolen threads (different colors);
  • Needle;
  • Ordinary threads;
  • Scissors;
  • Buttons (for the nose and eyes).

Stages of work

1. The hedgehog, in fact, will not consist of several pompoms, but of just one. This is where you should start. From cardboard you need to make a template in the form of circles (one inside the other). The outer circle is responsible for the size of the future toy, and the inner circle is responsible for the splendor of the “spiky hair” of the soft pet. You only need two templates.

2. Usually the thread is threaded through the needle, it is better to make it double. But since we are making a soft toy, we take a woolen and thick thread. The templates are connected to each other and wrapped with a thread. This continues until the inner circle disappears from sight.

3. To get a hedgehog, you need to cut the threads along the end. Now you need to thread the thread between the patterns and tie tightly. Leave the ends of the thread free, and cut the template and carefully pull it out. Even if you have never made pom poms, this one is easy to make.

4. Using yarn or threads, create two pigtails with your own hands, they will replace the hedgehog's paws. The legs need to be sewn to the body.

5. Buttons turn into eyes, ears, shoes.

It is not necessary to make the whole body out of pompoms. You can sew the body separately, and use the bubo as needles.

If your hedgehog is an autumn character, then mushrooms or leaves may appear on his back. Making toys with your own hands is not so difficult. It's worth trying.
