What is the date of the New Year holidays. Postponement of New Year's holidays

On New Year's Eve, the pre-holiday bustle begins, and most Russians are already in anticipation of the long holidays that have become traditional for our country, so let's talk about how we will relax on New Year's holidays in 2019

New Year's weekend

January, according to a long tradition, begins with long New Year holidays, and 2019 will not be an exception. Every year, the Ministry of Labor of Russia develops a decree indicating weekdays and holidays. Usually the document is approved in the autumn of the current year for the next one, therefore exact dates not yet for 2019, but we can talk about preliminary numbers, since a draft document already exists.

Attention! Russia is one of the few countries where the practice of transferring public holidays. And in 2019, Russians working 5 days a week can expect several periods of so-called “long weekends” lasting from 3 to 5 days at once.

Quite often, holidays are diluted with workers, which causes a number of inconveniences. Firstly, it is difficult to plan trips, visits to relatives. Secondly, a weekday surrounded by weekends is usually unproductive. When developing a project, the Ministry of Labor necessarily takes into account the ratio of working days and days off, trying to exclude interruptions by one weekday of several non-working days.

Recently, there have been legislative proposals to make December 31 an official holiday and a non-working day. At the same time, some people's deputies come up with an initiative to shorten the winter holidays. Considering that citizens already have too much rest, and protracted holidays negatively affect the country's economy. But, according to statistics, in terms of the number of working hours, the employed Russian population is ahead of most Europeans. At the same time, 71% of the country's residents have a negative attitude towards the abolition of long winter holidays. So far, such a radical measure is not supported in the State Duma.

New Year's Eve in 2019 falls from Monday to Tuesday.

Transfer Information

Given that December 31, 2018 is Monday, the government has already taken care of planning the New Year holidays in 2019, taking into account the interests of Russians and creating conditions for a good rest. In the adopted project on the transfer on Saturday (December 29), workers will need to go to work, but Monday will be a day off. In addition, at most enterprises, the last working day of the year is unofficially shortened. It turns out that the winter holidays will begin on Sunday and, most likely, will last until January 8, inclusive.

Two days off, released on January 5 and 6 (Saturday and Sunday, respectively), Russians are offered to take a day off on May holidays 05/03/19 and 05/04/19, having received as many as 5 days off in a row.

How long will we rest

  • 31 - postponed day off with working off on December 29.

Weekend dates in January 2019:

When is the first working day

The work week in 2019 is likely to start on January 9th. But it will be short - only 3 days, which will make it easier to get involved in the work process. Other, even unofficial, holidays will help not to feel sad after a fun holiday. The old New Year, beloved in many Russian homes, will come on the night of January 13-14, the Orthodox - Epiphany falls on January 19, and the young part of the population on the 25th will celebrate the students' holiday - Tatyana's Day.

On the agenda is the calendar of holidays and weekends in 2019 in Russia: New Year's January holidays, May holidays, on March 8, on February 23, on November and the transfer of days off.

Straight to the point. The Ministry of Labor of Russia, as always, worries in advance about the order of the New Year holidays. So they already sat in March of this year and decided (tentatively) that:

  1. The official holiday for the New Year will be 10 days - from December 30, 2018 to January 8, 2019 (inclusive);
  2. For the May holidays 2019, Russians will rest from May 1 to May 5 and from May 9 to 12;
  3. And also on February 23 from February 23 to 24;

  5. For November - from November 2 to 4.

Official holidays for the New Year 2019 and for the January holidays

This year there are two options for the New Year holidays (possible):

  1. On New Year's Eve we have a full rest - 12 days - from December 30 to January 10. The most desired option for all Russians.
  2. 10 days (from 12/30/18 to 01/08/19) - optimistic, more accurate and most likely approved, which means official (the Ministry of Labor just proposed this option for consideration).

Saturday, December 29, 2018 will be a working day for Russians. But it is transferred as a day off to Monday, December 31.

  • We celebrate New Year and Christmas from December 30 to January 8 inclusive!
  • The working Monday, December 31 is transferred to Saturday, December 29 (this is a calendar holiday, but it will be a working day - most likely a short one).

2019 is the year of which animal according to the eastern horoscope

Briefly: 2019 is the year of the Pig or the Yellow Earth Pig according to the eastern Chinese horoscope. And in our understanding, a pig is a kind animal, but loves expensive gifts. The boar is also a spender, loves freedom and beauty. They cannot be alone and do not tolerate betrayal.

And the Pig believes in fairy tales and magical miracles. This is a humorous sign of the zodiac and likes to often play a joke and laugh.

To choose new year gift for the Yellow Pig, you must remember that she loves everything beautiful, practical and expensive, bringing joy.

How to celebrate the New 2019 Year of the Pig

So the New Year of the Yellow Pig should be celebrated like this (?):

  1. In the circle of friends and relatives, with family and relatives. Pig loves noisy companies.
  2. On New Year's table from the dishes there are no restrictions. But Boar loves mushrooms most of all, and this product is “hard” to digest. And no matter how such an animal does not accept meat, especially pork. But what about without meat? Solution: serve meat salads and snacks from chicken meat (easier, cheaper and easy to get). All fruits and citrus fruits are just the way. Check out new and interesting ideas: What to cook for the New Year 2019 recipes with photos.
  3. Clothing for the holiday is selected in yellow shades (brown and green), it is possible with the addition of red and golden. Spicy mustard is the chic of 2019. The pig is not a very modest animal - on the contrary, so anything - maxi and mini skirts, shorts and bodycon dresses, jumpsuits and super-shiny dresses.
  4. Decorations for the New Year. Rumor has it that the Boar "does not miss", and it will be very useful to have a "gold" in your New Year's wardrobe. Just don't overdo it!
  5. Home comfort. If there is an opportunity, decorate an apartment or house in yellow, gold, and red: tinsel, snowflakes, ribbons. The Christmas tree is a beauty, we see it in gold and red balls mixed, plus not a lot of tinsel and “rain”.

A few days remain until the most fabulous holiday of the year - the New Year. The magical expectation of miracles will bring the Russians not only festive mood, but also quite real weekends - in honor of the New Year, we have to rest 10 days in a row at once.

However, before that, the Russians are waiting for an extended work week. In connection with the decision of the government to postpone December 31 to December 29, the last Saturday of the outgoing year will be a working one, although shortened by one hour as a pre-holiday day.

Thus, in the New Year holidays 2018-2019, we have to rest as follows?

  • 12/30/2018 - Sunday is a day off;
  • 12/31/2018 - Monday, day off due to the transfer of the working day to Saturday, December 29 of the current year;
  • 01-06.01.2019 - New Year holidays;
  • 01/07/2019 - Monday, Christmas;
  • 01/08/2019 is the last day of the New Year holidays.

The days off on January 5 and 6 (Saturday and Sunday) in accordance with the Labor Code are already non-working days and are transferred to May 2 and 3, respectively (Thursday and Friday).

New Year holidays 2018-2019: from what date and to what date

On the twenty-ninth of December, on Saturday, the Russians still have to go to work. But this is good news, because, firstly, the working day will be shortened, and, secondly, due to the postponement of the day off, it will not be necessary to go to your workplace on December 31st.

Accordingly, the thirtieth of December will be the first full day off, and the Russians will rest for ten days in a row. It will be necessary to return to work and study only on the ninth of January. However, after working for three days, we again set off for the legal weekend - Saturday and Sunday, so hardly anyone will have time to get tired.

By the way, two more days of the weekend that fall on the New Year holidays are also postponed: this time, thanks to them, the May holidays will last. Russians will also rest on them for more than a week, but with a break for a couple of working days.

Why do they want to cancel the New Year holidays in Russia?

As already mentioned, the initiative deputies annually try to pass a bill that implies the abolition of a long New Year's holiday, but the Russians do not understand why this is happening? The deputies themselves speak of several reasons for this decision. First of all, because of the ten-day vacation, the country's economy suffers: it simply loses huge income, as many enterprises and organizations are "idle" and people are celebrating New Year.

Secondly, the deputies express their concern for the people, as they are sure that during the long holidays people only drink alcohol and eat junk food, and in general they relax too much, and therefore their efficiency comes to naught. And in general, some officials consider such a long vacation a relic of the past, and cite other countries as an example, in which the New Year holidays are much shorter.

The Russians themselves, according to polls, are not ready to refuse the long vacation that they are given legally. So, they say that they spend this time usefully: they spend it with their families, make trips to relatives, take walks, start spring cleaning and even go on winter trips.

Where to go to relax on vacation?

Where to go in Russia in winter? When the long winter holidays come, many parents have a question: where to go or go with the child so that he is interested, so that he does not spend all the holidays at the TV or computer. Of course, a mass is organized for children Christmas trees, but I would like variety, so that not only Christmas trees, and for children to take a walk in the fresh air.

There are interesting places where you can go with children from Moscow or the cities of the Moscow region. This is a deer farm Reindeer", which is located in the village of Antsifirovo, Orekhovo-Zuevsky district, not far from the city of Yegoryevsk.

The farm is located right in the forest, among beautiful snow-covered forests and fields. Children will have a lot of fun sledding on a real reindeer team through a snowy field.

To plan a vacation in advance, outline a leisure plan and see all your loved ones - every Russian tries to do all this during the New Year holidays. To make it easier to cope with the tasks, you can now familiarize yourself and find out how to relax in Russia for the New Year 2018, and how many New Year's weekends and holidays await us.

How to relax on New Year's holidays 2018

According to the proposal of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, to postpone the weekend in 2018, you can now find out exactly how long the New Year holidays will last. The fact is that in the coming year, the New Year's Day 2018 falls on the night from Sunday to Monday. This wonderful combination of circumstances will help to catch up with all the pre-holiday preparations, even for those who work on a six-day week.

Thus, it will be possible to prepare for the New Year 2018 from Saturday December 30, since it is from this date that the official New Year holidays begin, which will last until January 8 inclusive (see the calendar below).

Official New Year holidays in 2018

Based on the draft resolution of the Russian Government and in particular the Federal Ministry of Labor, the schedule of days off and working dates for the upcoming New Year period will be as follows: starting from December 30 to January 8 inclusive - New Year holidays will take place, so the duration of the New Year holidays this year will be 10 days, which is 1 day more than in 2017.

Thus, in January 2018, from the 31st calendar day, workers will be - 17 days, in turn, weekends and holidays this month will be - 14.

Rescheduling holidays in January

For a more rational use of time, the supreme authorities made the following decision: due to the fact that January 6 falls on Saturday (and according to the law this day belongs to the New Year holidays and is considered non-working), it is postponed to March 9. The postponement of weekends and holidays described above will not be the only one for January 2018. Due to the fact that January 7 - Christmas, is included in and falls on a calendar day off - Sunday, there will be another shift in the production calendar. In this case, the day off on January 7th is moved to May 2nd.

The question may arise: how such movements are legalized holiday dates in the production calendar? The answer can be found by referring to the legislation of the Russian Federation, which says that in the case when Public Holiday falls on a calendar holiday (that is, Saturday or Sunday), it is automatically transferred to the nearby Monday or other convenient date. This date is being negotiated highest level and finally established by adopting the relevant act and promulgating it.

New Year 2018: holidays and weekends

On January 7, 2018, Russia will celebrate the second most important holiday in Orthodoxy (after Easter) - Christmas, this day will also be non-working.

It may seem that our country is almost the only one in the world that has such a long rest for the New Year. In many states, non-working days are several times less. In Russia, this trend has developed historically. Thanks to the innovations of Peter the Great, the first celebration of the New Year took place, which was shifted in the future due to the adoption of a new calendar. This gave rise to the first ones, which are now so loved by both children and adults.

New Year's holidays are the longest of the year. Of those additional days off that the Labor Code gives us in honor of certain holidays, more than half falls at the beginning of the year. Immediately 8 days out of 14 falls in January, when we rest in honor of the new year and Christmas. How will we rest for the new year 2018-2019 - days off for the January holidays in Russia according to the current law.

What days are non-working days in honor of the new year

The law says that the days from January 1 to 8 in Russia are non-working. At the same time, it is curious that not all these days we have a rest in honor of the new year. On January 7, we were given a day off on the occasion of Christmas, but the remaining seven days we really rest in honor of the New Year holidays.

Of course, few people especially think about this, and even a tiny percentage of people visit the church at Christmas or Easter in Russia. For most, the entire January weekend is dedicated to the new year.

From the point of view of labor legislation, the only difference between the last day of the year and all the others is that it is a pre-holiday day. If December 31st falls on a weekday, the work shift must be reduced by one hour. In general, when it comes to an 8-hour work day, workers should be allowed to go home after seven hours of work.

How we will rest for the new year 2019 - how many days off in a row

Despite the fact that December 31 is considered a working day, this time we will have a rest on the last day of the year. Even though that day is Monday.

The thing is that in Russia there is no one working day that would be located between non-working days. In such cases, the government moves to such a date a day off from another date.

In this case, on December 31, we will rest for Saturday, December 29. Accordingly, the last Saturday of the year will be a working day, and the next working week will be a six-day one.

In total, we will rest for 10 days in a row - from December 30 to January 8. Just like it was last year.

Will there be extra weekends in January besides New Year's?

No, going to work on January 9, we will rest strictly on Saturdays and Sundays until the beginning of March. Even the holiday of February 23 this time fell on Saturday, and the government moved the reserve day off from that day to May.

By the way, two extra days off, which were formed in January, were also postponed to May.

January 5 and 6 fall in the new year on Saturday and Sunday. In such cases, the weekend does not expire, and the government transfers them to other working days. In January, we will have enough rest, but in May these reserve days in 2019 will come in handy. Due to the postponement of two days off from January and one from February, in May 2019 we will have almost the same long vacation as right after the new year.
