- Let's immediately decide that the phrase "return your hair color" is incorrect. It is impossible to become natural again with coloring in one or several stages. In one procedure, something acceptable can be obtained only in the most ideal case: if a good master worked with your hair before and only on professional dyes. This procedure is sometimes several times more expensive than leaving the blond: it is better to part with the dark in 3-4 stages in a month. And all this month you will have to fight for the quality of your hair.
You can easily say goodbye to the blond in one go. The time for the procedure depends only on the initial condition of the hair. For my taste, the exit from light shades is much more interesting than from dark colors. Usually I do this through the red color: first, the hair is filled with warm natural pigment, which was washed with lightening, and then a natural shade is applied to it. This procedure allows you to increase the wearing time of natural color.
What are the first consequences?
- When going into natural colors from dark ones, you can get excessive dryness, brittleness, dullness and “ruffiness” of the hair, especially if the lightening was aggressive. From now on, they need care and smoothing of the scales. This effect can be achieved using the glossing procedure, but I do not recommend using keratin for this purpose.
After the blonde, the biggest problem is the rapid washing out of the natural color. This happens because bleached hair is porous, it does not just have scales raised, but holes appear through which the pigment leaves very quickly.
Is it possible to get into the natural color so that the growing roots are not visible?
- A fairly accurate hit in your color can be achieved if you come to the staining with regrown roots. But this method is more suitable for blondes. Then the master will have something to build on, and not guess from the photographs what your natural color is. And even when the dye is washed off along the length, and the roots grow, there will be no clear boundary between them.
With dark hair, there is another loophole - for example, the Kapous brand has a wash that washes out artificial pigment, but does not touch your own. Then it’s easier to choose the right shade and you won’t have to work with flaws after brightening powder.
How to choose hair care after returning to a natural shade?
- You will need a high-quality care series for colored hair. This is necessary so that the color close to yours stays on the hair for as long as possible. If you go deeper, when choosing a shampoo and balm, you need to focus on PH and sulfate content. In dyed hair, ph is shifted to the acid side - at a level of 4.5 to 5.5. In this range, and look for funds. Yes, sellers in far from all stores will help you with this, so count on yourself.
I'm not against sulfates in general - it's just a blowing agent. But if we consider the issue globally, then they act a little more aggressively on the hair and wash out the artificial pigment faster. Therefore, while maintaining color, it is better to take a sulfate-free product.

We must not forget about the regular struggle for the quality and health of hair: masks, balms, thermal protection. Another cool thing is a special vinegar for colored hair. It perfectly helps to preserve color and smoothes the structure.
I don't trust mass-market hair color ranges: it's a delicate, delicate matter. I don’t believe in their sensitive ph balance, and the sulfate content in them goes off scale. But this does not mean that you have to spend crazy money on care - the Korean cosmetics market is very good in this regard, and there you will always find a detailed composition of the product.
How to mask the roots, if you are determined to grow natural hair?
It's harder for brunettes. At first, you can hide the roots with special colored powders. But this remedy will help up to a maximum of 3 centimeters of the regrown root. And then, if blondes have a root that looks like dark hair against a light background, then a brunette has a light root - like a bald head. This situation can be corrected with tinting shampoos, but not household ones. Otherwise, they will clog their hair with pigment so much that all the torment will go down the drain. Also, be prepared for the fact that you will not find black tinted shampoos.
If you are determined to grow your hair, but the roots somehow need to be masked, then dark hair small highlights can help to somehow brighten up the contrasting transition of your hair into a dark growing paint. Well, well ... Not very natural, but not "horror-horror." The use in small doses is quite acceptable for me (it almost does not get on the skin).

The spray is very easy to use. The size of the can is perfect for me, fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. A recess is provided for the pressing finger (even with a ribbed surface so that it does not slip off). Ergonomics are perfect
The nozzle is small, about 0.8mm. The spray is fine. If you press weakly and uncertainly, larger droplets can fly out. In the photo they can be seen along the edges of colored spots. 
Separately, I want to note that you need to apply it carefully, it's still paint. Do not spray near white furniture or clothing free hand visor under the bangs, protecting the face. Washes off the skin with soap. You can try to just wipe it off, but the paint remains in the pores. If I applied a little more than I wanted, I quickly comb my hair, stretching the color. After the paint dries, you can comb it, but it’s better not often). Holds up well. If you do not particularly touch, then the effect is enough for a day. During the day there is a slight feeling of dirty hair, but since I do not apply to the entire head, this does not bother me. I do not process ALL roots (tedious, feeling of a dirty head, high paint consumption). While there is little gray hair that has grown back, I apply the spray only on the parting, I can wear loose hair. When the gray hair begins to catch the eye from afar, i.e. about the 4th week, I put my hair in my hair and process all the visible roots (parting and roots of the bangs), otherwise when the gray hair is loose, it glows with any movement of the hair.

For many long years I have been dyeing my hair blonde, sometimes with household paint, sometimes with professional dyes. But only in recent years I began to take care of my hair, make masks, smear oils, in a word, I began to spend money on hair care products.
In June 2018, for the last time, I painted myself with Estelev paint. When I washed it off, then, in principle, as usual, the hair that fell out remained in my hands ... By this bouquet of beauty, I fell ill and needed a long-term treatment, which actively influenced hair loss. I finally realized that I can no longer continue to paint every month! It was decided not to paint at all.
Every person who has grown their hair color knows that the hands are very itchy to paint over the roots. I was lucky that the native color did not stand out brightly on the already yellowed blond. Already in November, I felt how enraged I was to be unkempt yellow-haired with an even strip of regrown roots.
I began to look for options on how to paint rarely, but remain a well-groomed blonde. And came to frequent highlighting! After going through the entire Internet, it became clear that it would not work to do such coloring on your own, everything is too painstaking.
My hair before coloring looked like this, to be honest, it seems even a little branch roots for half a year:
In ordinary photos, I tried to adjust the filters so that yellowness and overgrown roots would not be visible.
It's been two to three months since the last staining on my own. You can see yellowness, slightly regrown roots, but overall still tolerable.

Price
In salons, such coloring is usually called complex, because. it takes a long time. For my length, a different amount was announced from 6,500 to 15 thousand. I also found training centers where, under the supervision of a teacher, students will paint you. There sounded the price of 2500, but I did not want to risk the already worn out hair. As a result, I dyed my hair at the hairdresser on the advice of relatives, at home, for a little over 5,000 rubles.
Process
I couldn't believe that it could take SO long. I felt sorry for the master, but my own neck was numb. We sat for 5 hours for highlighting, and then an hour for toning and cutting the ends.
The master separates a thin strand, and using Estelle powder, paints over part of the hairs from the strand, then wraps it in foil. Because I had frequent highlighting, then the strands were thinner and dyed more often.
The master periodically checked how the paint seized under the foil.
When all the strands were highlighted, we washed the composition from the hair.
The next day we toned my yellow hair - a washed out blonde. Tinted with Matrix + 2% oxide. There was no unpleasant smell at all due to the low percentage of oxide.
Of course, after dyeing, the hair is not much dry at the ends, you need to re-nourish them with oils and masks. But now the roots will grow much neater and not look like one even strip! This means that you do not have to tint the roots every month and spoil the hair again.
